How do they breed strains of marijuana to smell like berries?

So I'm smoking this 'huckleberry' (the name of the strain) and it smells SO GOOD... SOOOOOOOO GOOD! Tastes good too... boggles my mind though... are these strains naturally occuring, or do they mate them with a freakin blueberry plant, or is somebody just spraying some blueberry koolaid on my supposedly organic bud? Scientific answer prefered. Trolls can gtfo. This strain was grown in Cali.
