What would be the fastest way to get from Long Beach, CA to El Centro, CA?

I heard there was a tolley from Los Angeles to San Diego? By any chance does that trolley p through Long Beach? I want to get my dad over here, and I was thinking if there is a trolley ping through Long Beach he can take it over to San Diego and catch a greyhound... Can you help me??
